Failure to register and purchase a permit needed to access ZTL 1 and 2 will result in administrative penalties being issued and the payment of a sum equal to double the maximum daily tariff: € 380.00. In the event of improper use of the permit, counterfeit identification tag or failure to observe anti pollution regulations, in addition to the application of administrative fines, the competent authority shall confiscate the identification tag which will only be returned upon proof of payment of the administrative fine. In the event of counterfeit identification tags, in addition to the aforementioned fine, the competent officer will also duly inform the judicial authorities. In the event of an identification tag with monthly, six monthly or annual validity, in addition to the administrative fine, a further penalty is applied in the form of the permit being suspended for 30 days. Transgressors, who, in the space of one calendar year, breach the regulations on two occasions, shall be subjected to an additional penalty involving the suspension of the permit for 2 months. In the event of subsequent breaches of regulations, the additional penalty involving the suspension of the permit shall be extended for a period of 12 months. During said period of suspension, transgressors are excluded from purchasing daily permits needed to access ZTL 1 bus for a period of 7 consecutive days. In the event that members of the customer loyalty scheme fail to pay invoices within 30 days from the date of issue, each new permit applied for will be charged at the full rate, namely without the discounts offered to members of the customer loyalty plan. Should this breach be repeated, members will be suspended from the customer loyalty scheme for 12 months. Administrative fines are applied jointly and severally to both the owner of the vehicle and the driver of the vehicle.
