Atac historical photographic archive
The Atac historical photographic archive consists of around 50.000 original images, (on plate or negative) and more then 10.000 prints covering a temporal arch of more then 120 years.
The archive is regularly integrated with the latest photographic material. 12.000 are the photographs produced in the last 10 years.
The enhancement process of the historical photographic archive has been launched a decade ago through renovation works and a major material inventory of plates, negatives and prints as well as the transfer of all images to hard disk . The process has then progressed through participation at events, planning of exhibitions and magazine publishing.
On jenuary 8 2002 the archive as been declared “of notable historic interest” by the Lazio regional board of the ministry of cultural heritage and environmental conservation.
The archive is consultable through a data base containing around 18.000 scansions of original photo and 7.000 of prints. All images have inventory number and short descriptive note.
The historical photographic archive is currently managed by the Rome Mobility Agency Srl located at Piazzale degli Archivi, 40.
